Before the season begins, we will need to schedule a day to clean up and organize the truck and trailer. It would be nice to have some volunteers to help out with the heavy lifting and sorting. We are looking at the weekends of 2/13 & 14, 2/27 & 28, 3/6 & 7, and 3/13 & 14. If you are interested, post up your availability or PM me.

My schedule is rather crazy right now, if I am not coaching whenever the date is chosen, I will be there.

The 27th and 28th would be great. I could also go through all the timing equipment to make sure it all still works just fine.

Can't imagine me having time on any of those dates. I've got a car to get ready!

Sorry.

I'm in whenever you set the time/date.

BUT ... I voted for Feb. 27-28 because that gives us time to discover and FIX any problems etc. we might uncover before we gotta haul the rig out to MCC.

d.hitchcock

P.S. I'm working on my car too!

I voted for Feb 26-27, but could go with the other two dates in March.

Right now the Trailer is up at Bill Johnson's office in the Underground - to have the work completed on the Axle's and the Brakes.

Do you want to do the Trailer Clean-up at his facility, or somewhere else?

I have two cars to get ready, a vacation Feb 6 thru 14 and a Midiv convention Feb 20 and 21, but I will be available any time other than those weekends.

It would appear that Feb. 27 and / or 28 are the best days for organizing this. I will post up more information later on when and where.

Just an update, the truck is back in Lawrence to check on the engine again. It may or may not be available on the 27th. If it is not available, we will need to reschedule.

Truck is repaired and will be moved back to Leeds this weekend. It will be available for the Clean-up date.

Yee ha. Here is what I had in mind, assuming everyone is OK with it. We meet at Bill's shop at 9:00 AM on Saturday the 27th and do a thorough cleaning of the truck and trailer. We should do an inventory that includes tossing cones that are toast and checking the dates on the loaner helmets and disposing of out dated ones. A shopping list should be developed for paper items, batteries, pens, trash bags, etc. so that they can be acquired before the first event. If possible, the T&S equipment should be checked to see that everything is still functioning correctly and make any adjustments or repairs as needed. If we have enough help, perhaps we can network the trailer so that two computers can be used. If there are other relatively small jobs that can be done to improve the performance of the truck and / or trailer, perhaps they can be done as well. If the trailer repairs have been completed, it would be ideal if the truck and trailer can be driven back to storage in "event ready" condition.

Any other ideas out there?

Directions to Collins Machinery and Engineering Shop for truckster clean up:

8300 Underground Dr, KC MO 64161

From I-435 on the Missouri side north by Worlds Of Fun and the Ameristar casino.

Take I-435 to Highway 210 east - at the first stop light immediately after you get on 210 take a right on Randolph Road - go the speed limit on this road as the city uses it for revenue enhancement - at the bottom of the hill before you cross the railroad tracks take a left on Underground Drive - go approx 1/2 mile through the Hunt Midwest security gate and the entrances to the underground will be on the left hand side - look for the adresses above each entrance and enter the 8500 entrance along the railroad tracks - 8500 is the entrance with railroad tracks leading in and it seems odd at first but this is our combined truck and rail entrance - once you enter the caves we are the second loading dock on the right hand side.

Collins Machinery and Engineering Shop phone 816-455-5035.

I will definitely be there, but I don't think Mike will be able to make it, at least not in the morning, but I would like to test the timing equipment out to make sure it all still works.

So Bill's shop is Collin's Machinery and Engineering shop at 8300 Underground Dr, KCMO?

Alright. Truck is cleaned out and organized. All sorts of room for new junk. The trailer is about half done. A few things left to do, maybe during the T&T. We threw out about 20 cones that were severely distressed.

Big thanks to Bill Johnson and his crew for the use of his dock area and scrap metal and fabrication expertise. For those who get in and out of the truck on a regular basis, the front step has been improved.

I'd be game to work another day to finish the trailer before TnT ...

At TnT, I want to be huddled in the trailer out of the wind, not working! :-)

Us T&S guys need another day to get the timing equipment working. I still think it was just low batteries on the equipment, so hopefully it is no big issue.
